Laura Goldberg 95, passed away peacefully at her residence at the River Garden Hebrew Home in Jacksonville, Florida on September 11, 2017. Laura was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 3, 1922 to parents Sadie (Gart) Sack and Samuel Sack of Hartford, Connecticut. Laura graduated from Hartford High School in 1940 and married Charles Goldberg on June 6, 1943. They had been married for 73 years until Charles passed away earlier this year. Laura Goldberg 95, passed away peacefully at her residence at the River Garden Hebrew Home in Jacksonville, Florida on September 11, 2017. Laura was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 3, 1922 to parents Sadie (Gart) Sack and Samuel Sack of Hartford, Connecticut. Laura graduated from Hartford High School in 1940 and married Charles Goldberg on June 6, 1943. They had been married for 73 years until Charles passed away earlier this year. There is a lovely article about their life together that had been published in the Times-Union Newspaper on February 11th, 2012, entitled "Extraordinary Love."

Laura started her work career in 1953 as a part-time sales clerk at G. Fox & Company in Hartford, Connecticut, and rose to buyer of children's clothing, before retiring in 1983. After retirement, Laura and Charles relocated to The Pines of Delray in Delray Beach, Florida, living there until 2009 when she and Charles moved to Jacksonville to be closer to their children. Laura was a lifetime member of the Hadassah, and was for many years the Treasurer and Membership chairperson for the Women's Group at the Pines of Delray.

Laura is predeceased by her husband, Charles; and her four siblings, Blanche Auster, Beatrice Breslow, Kenneth Sack and Joseph Sack. Laura is survived by her two children, Kerry Goldberg (Susan) and Carol Goldberg Doyle (Al Bagocius); five grandchildren, David Doyle (Jane), Ross Doyle (Soyoung), Craig Goldberg (Stacey), Stacy Goldberg Daniels (Andrew) and Jonathan Goldberg; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at The Temple Congregation Ahavath Chesed, 8727 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida at 12 o'clock noon on Monday, September 18th, 2017. Internment will be at held at 2:00 pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The River Garden Hebrew Home.
