Celeste (Mann) Dowdy was born on February 14, 1928 in St. Cloud, Florida to Moyer and Leola Mann. She spent her life married to her sweetheart and beloved husband of 68 years, Harold Glenn Dowdy. She was a wonderful woman who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our "Nana," as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a baker of biscuits like no other could be.

Celeste was a true help-meet to her husband Harold, who spent his life's work preaching the Gospel. No matter the time of day or night, Celeste was somehow always ready with a warm meal and a kind smile. She was renowned for her hospitality, and with their door always open, everyone knew they could come inside to find a delicious homemade meal, and talk of God's word.

Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him."

She is survived by her children: Sharon Barber (Randy), Lynn Warren, Glenn Dowdy (Sherri), Richard Dowdy (Ginnelle); grandchildren: Bryan, Kelly, Christy, John, Josh, Savannah, Travis, Kate, and Morgan, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
